The aim of our internship program is for you to encounter Christ through the Word, prayer, readings, and relationships while gaining leadership skills and experience through local church ministry. This means that we want to pour into you as you serve Christ in our church and community. As a team, you will experience all aspects of our different ministries. Our church will also come alongside you in mentoring through different vocational and ministry seminars, as well as intentional time spent learning and discussing God’s word and how it shapes you.

We are currently offering several different internship tracks for 2025. You can read the job descriptions for each position by following the links below.

Under the direction of Jay Ridenour and Edgardo Rosa, I grew in my ability to glorify God in the pulpit and in my personal life. During my internship I volunteered at Basketball Camps and VBAs, served the community through household service projects, taught the student ministry by preaching and leading small group discussions, and led on a student retreat and a summer camp. Other than the friendships I built with brothers and sisters in Christ, the two highlights of my internship were attending a Simeon’s Trust conference and the continual exhortation and critique I received from Jay as he poured into me as a preacher and a man of God.
— Matt Shively | Pastoral Intern 2019-2020
Working alongside FBC Sudbury staff, especially Jay and Edgardo, not only offered practical insight into daily life in Christian ministry, but also gave me examples to emulate. Watching Jay and Edgardo lead in their respective church areas, love people wholeheartedly, and demonstrate gospel-centered compassion for their community helped me understand both the true privilege of life in ministry as well as the nitty-gritty, “not-so-fun” parts. It is truly difficult to recount and choose a highlight from the summer because the summer was a highlight of my entire life.
— Andrew Kirkland | Church Leadership Intern 2018
I learned that ministry is a lot about caring and loving for people. We spent a lot of time praying for our church and our community, getting to know people in our church and community, and building a strong bond as a team.
— Stephanie Harrison | Church Leadership Intern 2015
Something that I found super unique about the FBCS internship program is that it’s not just a 9-5 internship experience, but an intentional summer community. I appreciated the discipleship I got from Chelsea Levis, and the friendship that has followed for years after. I took up photography for the first time for this internship, and it has opened the doors for many photo gigs since. I now work full-time as a UI/UX Designer, where I use the tools I learned at FBCS on a daily basis.
